Germany, design probably by E. Dieckmann around 1930, production Korbmacherverein Co Tannroda, Thüringen, armchair with adjustable back for deckchair adaptation and retracting footrest, rattan and wire construction, max. height 99 cm, max. length 189 cm, width 72 cmE. Dieckmann was one of the most important furniture designers of the so-called Bauhaus school. A graduate from this school, he later led the joinery studio there. Dieckmann is known largely for his wooden furniture designs, where he strived for standardization and normalization. His works are characterized by strict geometry. Lit.: B. Polsterer – V.
