Sýpka Auction House cordially invites you to participate in three auctions per year, whether you are interested in selling or buying fine art, antiques or design items. The rules of the auction sales are very simple and the auctions are open to all visitors. Admission to our auctions is free. The auctions are held in the exclusive surroundings of Prague's Žofín Palace and enjoy great interest from collectors, investors and those interested in fine art, antiques and design.
Visit our auction rooms in Brno and Prague, we will conclude a contract with you and include your items in the next auction. We guarantee you an objective price on the current market and a corresponding appreciation of the goods. When concluding the contract, based on our in-depth knowledge of the art and antiques market, we will propose a starting price, i.e. the amount at which the auction will begin. If the items are included in the auction, you will be informed in detail about the conditions of the auction sale and the procedure after the auction. The auction company will charge 20% of the price achieved for the item (i.e. the amount for which the item is auctioned) to facilitate the auction sale. Each item included in the auction has its photo in the auction catalogue, in case of sale of an item the auction house charges the amount of 350 CZK per item. If the item does not sell, the owner does not pay any fees associated with the mediation of the auction sale. The item may be offered in a post-auction sale at the asking price or returned to the owner.
If you would like to bid on an item at auction, you have several options to participate in the auction. The most popular option is to attend the auction in person, you also have the option to bid by phone or set a bidding limit. For general information and details on the auction process, including bidding amounts, please refer to the Auction Terms and Conditions. In case of personal participation, the bidder will be given an auction number after signing the Power of Attorney and the Affidavit of Participation at the auction venue. At the end of the auction, the auctioneer has the option to pay the total amount on the spot and take possession of the auctioned item at the same time, or to pay a deposit on the spot and pay the balance within seven days of the end of the auction. The item will be delivered to the auctioneer upon payment of the full amount. If the auctioneer will participate in the auction by telephone or bid on the limit, a Power of Attorney for representation at the auction must be completed and sent in advance. The auctioned item will be delivered to the auctioneer immediately after payment of the total price and no later than seven days after the end of the auction. After the auction, 20% including VAT will be added to the achieved price if the achieved amount did not exceed CZK 1.000.000,-, 18% including VAT if the achieved price was higher than CZK 1.000.000,-, 16% including VAT if the achieved price was higher than CZK 10.000.000,-, which the auction company charges for mediation of the auction sale. Payment can be made by cash, bank transfer or card.
On the basis of clients' requests, Auction House Sýpka provides services related to the creation and management of collections.
We are dedicated to the acquisition of works (active search for artistically significant and at the same time cost-effective offers, mediation of purchase directly from authors, renowned galleries or auction houses) and the strategy of collection creation (focusing on the extraordinary nature of the works and the assumption of their financial appreciation, the possibility of diversifying the collection into more areas, monitoring liquidity, market analysis).
