edition of 12 multiples, 10/12Jiří Valoch's lifelong work from the mid-1960s developed in the fields of visual
poetry and conceptual work, the main theme of which is the exploration of language, the written word and its
semantic meanings. Textual records have taken on various forms throughout his artistic career.
forms. In the late 1960s, Valoch left the space of visual poetry for minimal actions
and photographic cycles in which he placed the isolated word in photographic records of nature,
associated with the human body (body poems) or explored the phonetic form of individual
words in photographic actions. An example of Valoch's conceptual work with phonemes is the work entitled
Pronouncing the word lump from 1970, which included a performative action in which the author articulated
individual syllables of a given word and documented their form photographically. The recording of the selected
word differs fundamentally in its written and oral form and presents the possibility of a different perception of the concept
with an identical meaning.
Attached is the author's certificate of authenticity.
