Navrátil are functional and innovative in the application of new materials, which puts him in the forefront in his field. Navrátil became famous in particular for his shell-like chair for tramway T3, which has become one of the design icons from the communist era. The furniture set on offer was designed by Navrátil with his close collaborator Z. Plesník, a leading architect from the second half of the 20th century, whose work was connected with the building up of Zlín. He was also famous for building the houses for the explorer Miroslav Zikmund and Zdeněk Liška, a radio transmitter, map print house in Peking or a factory for OP Prostějov, for which he received a State Prize in 1963.
