As a photographer, teacher and mentor in the Czech Republic, the United States and the United Kingdom, he has influenced generations of artists. He is also known as the founder of several important institutions that are still operating on a global scale today, without him. Prague House of Photography (now the House of Photography within the GHMP Prague), the international magazine Fotograf (now Fotograf Magazine) published from the beginning in two versions, Czech and English and distributed to more than thirty countries around the world. His works are in many collections, including: Musée de la Photographie, Charleroi, Belgium; George Eastman House, Rochester, New York, USA; Art Institute of Chicago, USA; Paris Audio Visual, France. His photographs have been exhibited in galleries, art museums and at festivals around the world.
