Bohumír Dvorský is one of the most significant artists who visually rendered the Czech landscape. He also extensively devoted himself to painting still lifes and bouquets. His work was influenced by Paul Cézanne and Julius Mařák. Dvorský's color palette, initially composed of cool tones, transformed under the influence of the South Moravian landscapes. He took refuge there during the war at Svatý Kopeček near Olomouc, shifting his palette to warm tones, even to joyful yellows and reds. He is referred to as a painter of light and optimism. He remained faithful to his artistic program throughout his entire creative life.
