The work Kulich corresponds precisely to the given specifics, the initially kitsch theme raises questions and encourages the viewer to be curious. Many of the author's paintings thematize boyhood romance, cowboys, Indians, stories
of adventure books, but it's also a world seen in the strange, irregular mirror from David Lynch's office. The author for this series of paintings, which includes the offered canvas, was inspired by a chance encounter with bizarre toys in a second-hand shop, which subsequently used for his subsequent work. For the toy cycle, Soukup is interested in are figurative portraits inspired by rag toys, which he often planted into situations of human life, and thus using these figures to create an alternation of lived, often intimate worlds. The grotesqueness and frequent absurdity contained in in the series evokes the artist's approach to the realities of everyday life, and we as viewers, we are merely in the audience of the action. Provenance: author's estate.
