SVOBODA, engraved belowIn addition to studio metallurgical glass and fused sculpture, Jaroslav Svoboda Since 1974, he also devoted himself to a number of architectural projects. He has created over thirty works of art, glass walls, light objects, stained glass and other artefacts. As a professor and teacher, he headed the Glass Studio from 1986 to 1990. at the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Prague. In 1990 he founded his own glassworks in Karlova u Škrdlovic. He received numerous awards for his glass work. and awards. His work is represented in prestigious international collections, e.g. Corning Museum of Glass, New York, USA, in the Kunstmuseum für Kunst und Gewerbe, Hamburg, and the Kunstsammlung der Veste, Coburg. In the Czech Republic these are the collections of the National Gallery in Prague, the Moravian Gallery in Brno, Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou and many others. A similar work by J. Svoboda in topaz glass is part of the collections of Horácké galerie in Nové Město na Moravě, which, in addition to its extensive collection of works (larger collections by František Vízner, Jaroslav Svoboda, etc.) also contains, for example, a substantial part of the archival sample collection of Škrdlovická Glassworks from nationalisation to privatisation. Provenance: from a private collection, acquired by the owner from the artist's studio.
