lear, cut, polished glass, height 25,5 cm, length 24 cm,
depth 16 cm, signed J. SVOBODAJ. Svoboda studied in 1953-1957 at the School of Applied Arts
Glass School in Železný Brod. In 1966-1969 he worked in the Atelier
Glass Cutting Studio at the Institute of Arts and Crafts in Prague and in 1970-1986
was the head of the glassworks of the ÚUŘ in Škrdlovice near Žďár nad Sázavou. Under him
under his leadership, glass production was maintained at a high level and became an important centre of artistic glass craft. In the seventies
glass symposia were regularly held here.
