Chatrný 1969Graphic art belonged to one of the many mediums in which Dalibor Chatrný had long been devoted to, and applied in it, similarly as in other areas, creative approaches and experiments that went beyond the commonly used methods. Especially in the 1960s 1960s Chatrný tried various shifts in printmaking, such as perforation or the use of a new technology, screen printing, which offered new possibilities of working with the de-skinned author's handwriting, creating large and new printing processes. A technique that became a means of to express new artistic tendencies of pop art and op art, Chatrný used the black screen prints with white negative dots in 1968-69. Geometric composition of dots arranged according to a certain scheme and construction corresponded to the nature of screen printing with the possibility of following a certain selected and controlled system.
