clear glass, sprinkled with iron and copper oxides, height 80 cm, signed. RONY
PLESL, 1990s.
Plesl's glass work, based primarily on working with cast, repeated and cut glass, has a distinctive sculptural morphology that stems from both from both organic and geometric motifs. The artist follows the classical and historical artistic periods and shifts them into the form of contemporary design. The basis of Plesl's work is respect for traditional and artisanal glassmaking technologies and their precise control, which he further develops innovative processes and technologies. An example of this is the use of new technology of fused glass casting, which enables the realization of large-scale compact fused works.
