Adam Štech, an outstanding representative of contemporary Czech painting, belongs to the middle generation of artists who, since the noughties, have been devoted to updating the classical hanging painting and exploring the possibilities of contemporary expressive means in painting. Štech has created a distinctive artistic style in which in the wake of postmodernism, looking back to the interwar modernist art movements and works freely with them.
