porcelain, varnished wood, coloured pigments, varnished general metal, 50 × 46 × 16 cm, signed Viková 1984 on the base, on the sculpture on the side viková 1984, 1984
Jindra Viková's early work from the 1970s and 1980s focuses on mainly on her work with ceramics, which she studied under Prof. Otto Eckert at the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Prague (1964-1969). Material, traditionally associated with applied art, the author moves into the realm of free sculpture. Ceramic figurative works, heads or animal motifs treated with painting on glaze, react in a unique way to the wave of new figuration in Czech art.
